Problem:

Bartlett Tree Experts needed a complete system for tracking accident reports. Though they submitted required information to OSHA, their efforts did not adequately capture all of the information they felt was vital to improving their processes and monitoring trends in their accidents. Reports were tediously faxed or mailed to headquarters, often times without appropriate personnel being aware of accident situations.

Solution:

CIIDS developed an Accident Reporting System that allowed Bartlett Tree Experts to capture relevant accident information including weather conditions, type of accident, staff member(s) involved, etc. Bartlett was able to mine all captured data, allowing them to assess trends in incident causes. This led to improved training programs, reduction in accidents, and increased accountability and information sharing within the company.

The Accident Reporting System immediately notifies office, division and company level personnel as necessary, so internal investigations and situational reviews can begin before crucial information is changed or forgotten. Perhaps the single most crucial aspect of the Accident Reporting System is the capability it provides Bartlett to know exactly how much an accident has cost the company in terms of incidental and insurance costs in real dollars and ho w much collections of accidents, on an office or division level, compare to company level averages over time.

The Accident Reporting System allows administrators to review accident information within the context of date, location, type of accident, and a myriad of other incident related data points. The System provides customized tables and charts that graphically and effectively increase knowledge transfer in training situations, inform equipment purchasing and influence staffing decisions.
